POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

BULLY PREVENTION PROGRAM

The document linked below provides information on how Lundy Staff plans to address bullying behaviors in our school. The program, developed at the University of Oregon, was designed to provide instruction and response to both the perpetrator and the victim of bullying behaviors. It also provides specific steps for adults in the system to follow in responding to student reports of such behavior. It is important for students and families to also understand the difference between "tattling" and "telling". Lundy Elementary defines tattling as telling an adult about a problem with the intent to get someone in trouble. Telling is reporting a problem in order to keep someone safe (both physically and emotionally).

Please check out the links below to learn more about Lundy Elementary's program to target and reduce bullying behaviors in our school as well as PBS (Positive Behavior Support).

WHAT IS SCHOOL-WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT?

IS PBS EVIDENCE BASED?

Lundy Elementary has been focusing on reducing aggressive, bullying behaviors. As part
of this effort, the school has implemented a program called Bully Prevention (accessible
via webpage link on this page) that encourages students to stand up for themselves,
telling the bully to stop - and walking away and reporting it to an adult if it doesn't.
We call this "STOP, WALK, TALK". Teachers and staff feel that it is very
important for students to be held accountable for their behaviors and for students
encountering these situations to have tools to respond. Our very own Mr. Sid Rosen wrote
a rap to help students remember the steps to follow when they have these problems. The
link below will take you to a video of Principal and teachers at Lundy Elementary who
are working to rap their way to a better school environment! Think they have a chance at
a recording contract?
